Update to my previous post: I told my parents I’m converting to Judaism, finally

I finally told my parents! It was awkward, as expected, but my parents’ reactions were basically exactly what I expected. My dad (who is technically Jewish) said “oh I thought you were an atheist like me, good for you though” and my mom said “I knew you were interested in Judaism but I’m surprised you want to actually change religions, but I’m happy for you.”

It was essentially the best reaction I could’ve hoped for 🤷🏻‍♂️ they weren’t over the moon about it, my mom did her fake “why not be a Christian” shtick, but they were clear they were happy if I’m happy and will come to my beit din.

So anyway, it’s over lol. Glad it’s out of the way, literally only my parents required a conversation, everyone else I’ll just tell or let them find out from hints.
