I was cooking a late lunch just outside my sukkah as there isn’t much room inside for the small wood cook stove, and noticed that due the the angle of the sun I was sitting right in the middle of the shade from from the schach. It definitely felt like I was dwelling in the sukkah. Like sitting on the front porch is still “at home” even if you aren’t inside.
