Hi everybody-
I’m a super experienced Jewish educator with a dual part-time career in another industry.
As a Jewish educator, I have worked with children for bar and bat mitzvah education, and led their services alongside them. I’ve also taught young children and families.
As I consider my next chapter, I truly would love to be a cantor. I’m also interested in becoming a rabbi, though ultimately that role feels very heavy to me. I’m queer, progressive and I’m not interested in exploring teachings about Halacha. I’m more interested in sharing Jewish skills, making music, nurturing rituals and Jewish life. I’m also open to providing my services solo.
I also need things to be flexible so I can start a family and continue to pursue my other career.
Anybody have any advice? Especially if you know what cantorial school entails – and have a recommendation of one that I should explore!
Thank you!
