Hello everyone, I recently started reading about how jews observe Shabbos and how they interpret the texts surrounding it, as a muslim our day of rest is friday or Jumu’ah, we are not allowed to work at the afternoon and instead we engage in collective prayer called Salat al Jumu’ah where our Imam (which i guess is the equivalent of a rabbi) gives us something of sermon talking about relevant stuff.
I was intrigued to hear how when jews observe Shabbos they are not allowed to do a set of things, including lighting fire and cooking (i know that orthodox and haredi jews have different interpretations of Shabbos) So now i have a few questions:

How did electricity become related to fire and therefore being forbidden to use on shabbos? Is it because sometimes small sparks are caused with wirings?

How different are the interpretations between different jewish denomination?

Do you, the reader, consider some of the limitations imposed by Shabbos as being maybe irrelevant (if this is blasphemous or offensive do tell me)

Finally, what if a non jew helps with the chores in Shabbos, is it okay to hire him?
