Question for Orthodox Jews :

Many different halachic opinions have been published over the years on many different novel scenarios that have arisen.

How to you approach Jewish law when dealing with which poskim have binding authority.

When there is a consensus of a few, I’d assume that would create a binding authority in my view.

But where there is no consensus, do you pick and choose? Do you have one rabbi who decides for you which authority you’ll follow?
