Question about Job 2:10 – accepting both good and bad from God

Hello everyone, I’m Christian—not Jewish—but I’m asking here because I really appreciate how this tradition embraces multiple layers of interpretation when reading the Tanakh (and I mention that since I’ve noticed some in this forum prefer to know when someone isn’t Jewish).

In Job 2:10, Job says, “Shall we receive good from God, and shall we not receive evil?” (or “trouble,” depending on the translation). A quick search suggests the straightforward meaning is that we must accept God’s will in both blessings and hardships.

Is that the consensus in Jewish commentaries, or are there other interpretations—perhaps in classical, medieval, or modern sources—that shed different light on this verse?
