Question about giving gifts for Hanukkah as a gentile.

I want to get one of my friends who is Jewish a gift for the holiday season since gift giving is probably my biggest love language.

Obviously I shouldn’t give a Christmas gift, and I’ve been told that it’s okay to give a Hanukkah gift to a Jewish friend even if you yourself are not Jewish, but I was just wondering if there’s a specific day of Hanukkah I should give the gift? I don’t want to ask him since it would ruin the surprise, so I hope this is an appropriate place to ask!

And just in case it matters(I honestly don’t know), I’m planning on getting all of my friends a few games via steam because I am sadly broke this year.
