In Biblical times, when the Jews lived in tribes, when a person wasn’t a Hebrew but became a Hebrew (like Ruth), what tribe was that person assigned into? Or did non-Hebrews just not get a tribe? If they didn’t receive a tribal membership, then where did they live: since residence/land ownership in biblical Israel was determined by what tribe a person was in?
