Perhaps a repeated question, why is it prohibited to eat pork in Judaism?

Okay so I’m not a Jew, but I’m really curious why Jews are the first people who stopped eating pork in the human history?

According to some resources, it is said that humans consumed it from a very early age. Is it really that dirty?
