Shalom 🙂
I’ve been trying to find some meditations / readings etc to help ground me after periods of high stress.
I’m a nurse on a hospital ward so sometimes a normal work day has some pretty scary moments, that are par for the course at the time, but I find sometimes they become like a fixed point in time that stays as a constant present, refusing to be left in the past (a.k.a good ole trauma flashbacks)
When I’ve had really bad times, attending shabbat services help wash it away
But I’d like to build more practices to help me put those fearful moments down without having to carry them until the next service.
The Brikat Hagomeil / thanksgiving blessing is, to my understanding, traditionally used for coming out the other side of serious illness or other life threatening or challenging situation.
So it seems a close fit but not perfectly appropriate
I mean, technically I’m dealing with near death experiences, they just aren’t my near death experiences lol
Does anyone have any advice or suggestions for meditations / blessings for setting down stress and fear?
(Also for the Discworld/Pratchett people here – I’ve decided I should start referring to those moments as ‘Near Vimes Experiences’)
