I grew up in Monsey from 1961 till I married in 1991. My mom kept our house until she passed and then my sister sold it. It was always conservative Jews, orthodox and hasidic. I went back in 2014 and I didn’t recognize my home town. There was just a sea of black coats that walked wherever they wanted whenever they wanted!! They pushed out all the Conservative Jews and Orthodox and now it’s just Hasidic. I LOVED growing up in Monsey. I have so many fond memories and can cherish what used to be. BTW I am a Conservative Jew!
