Medically assisted dying in Judaism

So I know the responses I will immediately get here on this subject are either going to be “it’s bad, don’t go there” or “speak to your rabbi regarding the circumstance”.

But I just really wanted to first gauge if there is any nuance to this AT ALL from an orthodox perspective or if perhaps people here have some personal experience with this subject.

I am specifically asking in regards to mental illness as opposed to physical illness but I’m not sure if the differentiation matters that much if the end goal is the same.

I’d appreciate more brief responses as opposed to lengthy ones – even though I know this is a deeply complex issue. Feel free to just message me directly instead if you don’t feel comfortable posting a comment about it publicly.
