I’m very confused, I have heard that certain rabbis including Rabbi Akiva ruled that tattoos are only prohibited when they are for the purposes of idol worship, or the Holy Name of God.
is this true, if so where is it written?
An important note: I’m not Jewish nor do I think anyone should get tattoos if they feel they are bad.
