Is Marital intimacy still a mitzvah when not done for the purpose of kids?

Hello everyone!

I’m getting married soon and I’ve been doing a lot of Chatan learning. Every Rabbi speaks about how important intimacy is, how it’s one of the most important mitzvahs and holiest things you can do in the marriage.

I am wondering if there are any sources talking about intimacy when not done for the purpose of having kids? Sadly we are unable to conceive naturally so intimacy would be purely for pleasure, which I understood as potentially being a bad thing?

I would appreciate some advice / input / sources talking about this.
