Is it bad for me to take interest in the Canaanite pantheon?

Okay so I’d like to stress that is more so from a historical/writing standpoint as opposed to spiritual or religious. I’m well aware that we are monotheistic, and yet I find the concept of these early deities within intriguing. I don’t worship them or anything, but writing about them, learning about them, or maybe even creating a story about them from a Jewish framework is something I take interest in. Is this a bad idea? Am I wrong for thinking this way? I don’t wanna accidentally commit heresy or blasphemy by creating a fictional story. I’ve read a lot of mixed opinions on here about the old Canaanite pantheon (ie Asherah, Baal, etc) and so is it bad that I find learning about them interesting?
