I work with anti Semites and discrimination, every day…..

I’m not Jewish but a Noahide. Still, I feel discriminated against in ways similar to how Jewish people are discriminated against. That’s why antisemitism affects me deeply; it drives me crazy, and it’s only getting worse. I’m in a situation where I feel suffocated by it.

On one hand, I have a wonderful work environment. They’re very nice people, and I get along well with them. But…

On the other hand, the most difficult thing is that they are heavily tied to Islamic unity. One colleague says we are one “family” as Muslims, and once when he asked if I was Muslim, I felt pressured to say “alhamdulillah.” I feel myself ashamed to HaShem because of this. Another colleague constantly says I should read the Quran, and they tell me to say “bismillah” before eating and “salamin aleikoum” as a greeting when I come and leave. Even though “salamin aleikoum” doesn’t bother me much, this insistence has been overwhelming.

For now, there’s nothing overtly antisemitic happening. But sometimes they play music. I’m never allowed to play Hebrew songs. I overheard a colleague saying that Jewish people are bad. Another colleague, who I get along with well, even said that if I ever became Jewish, he would never speak to me again. Additionally, one person often calls me “Jew” in a derogatory way whenever something goes wrong. So whenever something bad happens or I make a mistake, they call me “Jew.”

The mix of religious pressure and antisemitic attitudes tears me up inside. I’m totally alone in a place with only Muslims. I feel discriminated against nearly every day, experiencing hatred in subtle ways they don’t even realize. Sometimes, I wonder if there’s a Psalm or prayer I can say for a situation like this. I feel like I’m losing my mind. I’m not afraid of anything, but this really weighs me down.

Please take care, everyone. I just wanted to share my story.

May HaShem protect you all
