How to respond

I am a teacher in a low income area. There are many Hispanic families in the area. Three times in the past couple of years I have had students tell me that Jews don’t believe in G-d. One student actually said, “I hate Jewish people.” When I asked him why, he said the same, “Because Jews don’t believe in G-d.” These are children between the ages of 10 and 13. It’s apparent that they’re learning this from home or from their religious leaders. Each time someone says this, it throws me off and I’m not exactly sure how to respond. I would like a good, positive response that has impact and one that an 11 or 12 year old can understand. Any suggestions are welcome.
