How does the Hebrew name system work? And what could be my name?

Hey, I’m not Jewish, but I’ve always wondered what Hebrew name I would have if I were Jewish. Also, how does someone get one if they only have a ‘Western’ name? Do you receive it at a Bar Mitzvah or in the shul (which sounds like the German word for school, Schule)? By the way, my name is Mert
