How do you think emergency powers should be organized?

This post was not written by Chancellor Palpatine. He loves democracy, he loves the republic. He will lay down his powers when the crisis has abated.

Emergency powers, including war powers and states of martial law have often been some of the biggest threats to people who have been Jewish in history. But even in ancient times, Jewish law has had some rules allowing people to throw out obedience to most of the regular rules during times when saving lives and communities comes first. They shouldn’t be without oversight though, and there have been limits to such powers. The Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha can both cancel them by a majority in either of them.

Given the risks and necessities of it all, and the difficult position Jewish people have often found themselves in for one reason or another, what balance do you think is right?
