In studying the historical borders of ancient Israel as described in the Hebrew Bible (e.g., Genesis 15, Exodus 23, Numbers 34), how do contemporary Jewish scholars interpret these descriptions? Are they seen purely as spiritual/theological boundaries, or do some see them as historically or politically relevant today?
