Has atheism made too much inroads into Reform theology? Why won’t most reform acknowledge that there is an afterlife?

I know a lot of my fellow Reform can’t make a distinction between their politics and religion, many are openly atheist and don’t acknowledge the Torah as a divinely-inspired document. One of the ways I notice this manifesting itself is in the number of my fellow Reform who don’t believe in an afterlife.

Judaism obviously affirms this from the Torah forward. And Maimonides acknowledges this in his 13 Principles of the Jewish faith.
