For those who have to work on Shabbos, how do you try and keep it sacred?

Hey everyone, I’ll be unfortunately working on Shabbos for a while until I’m able to request a shift change. I really need the job and the money, so it’s something I just have to deal with.

Fortunately, I am in a Reform/Reconstructionist Community so it’s not entirely unheard of, but it still isn’t ideal (it’s a very progressive community but very committed to observance still).

So, until I am able to change my schedule I figured Id ask some others how you keep Shabbos sacred and holy while having to break one of it’s core tenets by working?

I’ll be having to work til 9pm on Shabbat on Friday, but I’m not scheduled for Saturday thank g-d! So I’ll only have a few hours where I can’t observe, but it still feels so wrong 🙁
