Hi! I’m curious to know what people’s experiences are at Humanistic Jewish synagogues? I’d like to re-engage with Jewish life, and I feel that the theme of “saying what you mean and meaning what you say” resonates with me as a secular Jew, which is why I think Humanistic Judaism would be a better fit. I’ve been to other synagogues, and I’ve considered joining them just for the social engagement, but the focus on God and Zionism in the prayers just doesn’t connect with me.
What’s the social life like? Liturgy? Music? How many people go to events? Is there a sizable number of 20’s-30’s that are active (not just dues-paying members who don’t show up)?

EDIT: Most people here have been off-topic and more interested in making their opinions known about who qualifies as Jewish and the role of Zionism in Judaism. Some of these tangents have been interesting but this is irrelevant to my question. I’m only looking for your opinion if you have been involved with a Humanistic Judaism synagogue or congregation.
