Doubt on Mezuzá placement

Hi. I’m part of a Sefaradic family. We are not very religious, although we wanted to place a Mezuzá in our new home. The place wasn’t habited by Jewish before, and there’s no clue where to put the Mezuzá. Also, there isn’t a community here. The place was a hotel before. My first thought was to put it on the red spot that I drew, although it would be a little far away from the door (I just measured it and is almost 3 ft away from the door) Is there a halajic rule for this case? Thanks!
