Do Rabbis have a central data base? Is it ethical?

I attended a yeshiva for a while, and it often felt like every interaction I had with anyone there was immediately shared with all the rabbis.

For example, if I told one rabbi that I was leaving on a particular date, suddenly every rabbi seemed to know. If I missed a single class, all the rabbis heard about it. Even if I sent a WhatsApp message to one rabbi, it somehow became common knowledge among the rest.

Is this normal practice in yeshivas? It feels like a real violation of privacy.
