Do Jews believe god guides us in small everyday decisions we make?

I am curious more about the more orthodox perspective here.

Context:

I wrote a text message to a friend today containing some difficult stuff. I wanted her help and guidance, but I knew it would also be difficult for her to hear and respond to. Something would not allow me to send it today, so I didn’t.

She just texted about how she and her sister are celebrating their mom’s birthday today. Their mom was great but she died about four years ago. My first thought was like a “oh thank you god for not letting me burden her with my problems today of all days” and I immediately thought how very Christian that sounded.

I am not asking about the good or bad of asking friends for help. I’m specifically curious about whether a decision about something as simple as sending a text is something Judaism might attribute to a higher power.

Hope I make sense. Thanks.
