33M living in Toronto. I was raised through the Associated Hebrew School system and dutifully gleaned that we are meant to be with our own people.
Now, I recognize that this is a troublesome and Old Country idea, but it’s one that has burrowed it’s way deeply into my mind. It is damn tough to remove. One way or another, I feel safe and I feel seen when I am with the Yids!
The trouble is that I’m an artistically-inclined person, a free spirit labourer that works late hours in the music industry. I’m not yr typical 9-5 “Jordan Goldblatt” or “Isaac Kikelstein.” Jewish women in Toronto tend to lean for more straight-ahead type of connections, and any Jewish women that might be closer to my type are not looking for a Jewish partner in the way I am.
I feel stuck, frustrated, and a little heartbroken about the whole matter. How do you Jewish weirdos make yr way through it all? I’ve tried checking in at the Miles Nadal, but the MNJCC doesn’t seem to attract women that have the nature I’m looking to discover (or hoping discovers me.)
