Coverage options for top of sukkah

I know it’s a few months away but I’d like to plan ahead a bit this year. Our sukkah is a DIY out of 1.5″ PVC. I threaded paracord inside the pipe to keep it from coming apart which makes it quite sturdy while still being able to be fully disassembled.

The only thing I don’t love is we lay bamboo across the top for the s’chach and it’s either too little coverage or too much weight. The structure is an open cube 8 feet along each edge. I know I could mitigate the problem with additional cross members on the top or additional supports but I’d prefer for various reasons to keep the structure as simple as possible to assemble.

I’ve looked at s’chach mats but generally find that they need some more support in the middle. Can anyone suggest a kosher cover from some natural fabric / mat / mesh that could cover that large an open span with less mass than the bamboo.

Thanks for any ideas!
