Being “sort of” religious?

I really hope the title doesn’t sound offensive because that is not my intention.

I am recently getting into Judaism and trying to find a connection to god. My family is Jewish by descent but not religious.

I am looking to start praying and observing certain traditions and holidays however without going any further than that (not covering my head when I’m married, not observing Shabbat, etc). Is that possible? Is there a name for that? Once again I hope I do not come off disrespectful!
