My best friend from college’s son is getting married soon. The family lives in Scarsdale, and to call them “well-off” would be an extreme understatement.
I haven’t been to a wedding in a bit, and I’m at a loss as to an appropriate amount to give under the circumstances — the close relationship with the parents, combined with their wealth. Cash for a house was the only thing on the son and his fiance’s registry.
