Zionism defined

I saw this in another thread, and I think it deserves its own post.

Zionism simply means the belief that Jews should have a home in their ancestral land. That’s it.

I would modify it slightly: Zionism simply means the belief that the Jewish people , like all other peoples, should have a home and be sovereign in their ancestral land.

If you: 1. Support the right of other peoples (the French, Turks, Japanese, Haitians, Egyptians, etc.) to have a home and be sovereign in their ancestral land, but 1. But are anti-Zionist, the. You are 1. By definition, anti-Jewish.

To be anti-Zionist is to say that the Jews alone should be denied a right you think belongs to all other people.

The only case I can imagine where being anti-Zionist isn’t anti-Jewish is where you oppose the rights of all peoples to be sovereign in their ancestral land.
