Working in Jewish schools

Hi all! This year I am working as a school counselor for a third party who contracts out with multiple private schools. I have multiple Jewish schools. After following all appropriate policy and procedure, I wanted to ask the community here what would be helpful for me to know, maybe read up on, such as holidays, practices, etc.
