Won’t wear a kippah for our wedding.

Having a bit of an argument my fiancé and I. We are having a conservative wedding in a few months and our rabbi told us Kippot are just a custom and not required. I always envisioned our Jewish wedding with my fiancé wearing a kippah. He’s now decided it’s not required so he’s absolutely not going to now. He says it’s meaningless and he won’t even entertain it. I’m not looking for relationship advice I’d just like to know, have you ever been to a Jewish wedding that isn’t interfaith etc where the groom hasn’t worn a Kippah?
