Why follow the Haggadah?

So I was raised kinda jewish up until my bar mitzvah. I don’t practice much anymore but try to get together with other friends for the big holidays, I don’t much listen to Rabbis anymore and mainly study on my own.

This year I have recently reread the Torah and noticed it’s directions in regards to a passover celebration. From what I have read and understand, the main passover laws in regards to a seder are:

Eat Lamb, Unleven bread, bitter herbs, and tell your sons and daughters about the history of our time in Egypt.

Is it really necessary to follow the rules in the Haggadah when the torah has its own set of requirements for passover?

Thanks for reading, I look forward to what people have to say!
