Why are there so many Jacobs but so few (if any) Esaus?

I know little about the bible/tenakh but I do know some of the stories from Genesis. Jacob is a very common jewish name and i suppose it makes sense as he was one of the patriarchs. But given that Esau’s birthright was stolen by Jacob through duplicity not tarnish the name Jacob and make Esau an alright name?
