Why are Rosh HaShanah and Yom Kipur considered the "biggest" holidays by some non-Orthodox Jews?

I’m asking out of genuine curiosity, not malice.

Why those two holidays (so stressful and serious and close together)?

Why not Purim and Sukot? Why not Simchat Torah and Pesach? Why not Chanukah and Shavuot?

This is not to say that non-Orthodox Jews don’t celebrate these other holidays. I’m just trying to understand the specific emphasis on the Yamim Noraim.
