Why are kosher restaurants so expensive?

I get the fact that kosher meat/dairy is significantly more expensive than regular but it is crazy expensive to eat out. Almost $30 for a hamburger with mushrooms? Seems like a sad joke to me. For me a not too wealthy Jew is not even an option to consider.
