Which historical non-Jews are particularly admired/hated in the modern day?

Cyrus, Nebuchadnezzar and Hadrian for example are both well-known figures over 2000 years later for differing reasons.

Are there any other notable ones who would be commonly cited as benevolent or malevolent to the Jews (prior to 1900 let’s say)?
