What is the command for loving HaShem according to Judaism? Do you get punished if you love your parents more than Him?

For context:

When I was little, and in Sunday school, us small children were taught a song, and we were supposed to sing it in front of the congregation. I don’t remember the whole song, but one part that stuck vividly in my memory were the lyrics about loving G-d “more than mom and apple pie”.

I refused to sing that I love G-d more than my mom.

In Christianity, that is a huge violation. The ideal is to love G-d more than anything else. More than your pets, your parents, or your children. And in some sects, from what I can tell, you will be punished after death if you do not love G-d like that.
