Is someone with a Jewish father who wasn’t raised Jewish allowed to say they are Jewish? I have a friend who is now being more “actively Jewish” in terms of embracing their identity. But on numerous occasions has gone out of the way to fully disrespect the Torah and outright dismiss Halacha. It’s becoming a point of contention and I’m not sure how to have a conversation about it without potentially losing a friend.
