What do Jews think of Leonard Cohen?

I know, theres not a canonical response to the question, or a consensus. But so much of his music, poetry really, is deeply influenced by Old Testament concepts. He talks a lot about Christ too, but never in the “messiah” sense. The subject matter of many of his songs is clearly not in line with Jewish teaching, but the man seems to understand human nature so well, especially suffering and despair.

Obviously not a model Jew from the standpoint of morality, and he himself was critical of mainstream religions, but somehow he makes me want to learn about that mysterious unstated side of him that is so omnipresent in his work.

Or to put the question differently, what can be learned about Jewishness from LC?
