What can I do to better support my father on Yom Kippur?

My dad is Jewish, and will be participating in the usual fasting, prayer, and refraining from earthly pleasures and luxuries this Yom Kippur. I am not Jewish and will therefore not be participating, but I want to know: what I can do to support him during this day and be as respectful as possible of his practices and beliefs? What are some do’s and don’t’s?

(My ideas so far are to avoid cooking as much as possible so the poor guy doesn’t have to smell it while he’s fasting, keeping to myself so I don’t interrupt anything, and helping him hydrate a bunch in the days before)
