Did anyone else see Uncut Gems?
What did you think? Is Uncut Gems Jewish? (I sure noticed a lot of Jewish themes!)
Is Uncut Gems good for the Jews or bad for the Jews?
For me, for example, I like how the film shows the pro(?)tagonist is not a very good Jew, from a Jewish perspective. But I worry that outsiders will see the film and think that all Jews are like that, fitting the stereotype of someone who will stop at nothing for financial gain (especially when it involves a precious little stone), that Jewish families are a mess, that Jews are always trying to make deals, etc. etc.
Is Uncut Gems a Jewish parable or is it an antisemitic trope?
