Two Questions

Simeon is considered a lost tribe, but its lands eventually formed part of the Kingdom of Judah. How come it is considered a lost tribe, whilst the tribes of Judah and Benjamin aren’t?

Also, what is the mainstream view on the boundaries of the Promised Land? In one Genesis verse, G-d tells Abraham that it stretches from the Nile to the Euphrates, but in another, he tells Abraham that it consists of the Land of Canaan, which he later also gives to Moses.

Sorry if these are silly questions: I’m not Jewish.
