The Importance of Debate, Arguments, and Complaining In Judaism

Shalom my brothers and sisters! I’m an anthropology major who has to write an essay on some aspect of a culture of which I am familiar. As indicated by the title I’ve decided to dedicate the essay to the topic of debate, complaining and such to our People. I think that this is an important aspect of Judaism seeing that we are literally called “Israel” (“wrestling with Hashem”) , stereotype ourselves as complainers, and have religious schools in which debate is prioritized. I would like to know if you guys have any options or examples to support or validate my idea. I can’t wait to see. Thanks!
