Tallit on a cross?

Hi all. This morning I was at a church for a non-church related community event. As I was leaving I noticed that the cross in the lobby was draped with a tallit gadol. This was a “Reformed” church (a flavor of Protestantism). Any idea what is up with that? Is this the same kind of thing as Christians hosting a Seder? Or maybe a more innocuous recognition of their religion’s Jewish roots? I’ve been in a lot of churches of many denominations and this is the first time I’ve seen anything so explicitly Jewish used like that.
