Tallit of family members who have passed

I have my late father’s and my father’s father’s tallitot. They obviously have a lot of sentimental meaning to me, but I’m wondering if there are any traditions around items like this. My grandfather’s is really old and frail — I took it out once just to look at it but threads were falling off.
