Talking to non Jews about the attack

I talked with somebody tonight, not Jewish, who told me that Israel is an apartheid state, that Israel forced the Palestinians into a concentrated territory, and that the war and offense, now that the Israeli government is putting forth to Hamas, is against Jewish faith, culture, and Liturgy.

I tried to describe how within Israel, the Muslim Jewish and Christian community all coexist peacefully, that within the high levels of government there are Muslim members. And that within the territory of Gaza, that the government which is in place is not the authority or activity of the Israeli government,

these points were returned with statements of disbelief. That Israel, as a Jewish state was an annex from the Palestinians, who were there before, that the Palestinians are treated as subordinate class, and that the message of Israel “attacking “Gaza is counter theoretical to the values in the Old Testament, we also discussed how during the BLM movement in the US, where were the Jewish voices up at the K

I tried to explain how many of the holidays we celebrate are about freedom, and justice, and preservation of the Jewish history.

I guess I feel a bit abandoned and isolated, but also unprepared for the proper counter punches to the number of jabs and uppercuts, I felt landed in this discussion…
