Looking for some support/insight… I’ve kept kosher in-home for the past 11-12 years, but I’ve reached the point where buying glatt meat is becoming too costly. For instance, a 2-3lb glatt brisket is about $40 or I can go to my local Kroger and get a 16lb brisket (non-kosher) when on sale for the same price or cheaper. Ground beef (kosher) is $10/lb vs $5/lb (non-kosher). Kosher chicken in my area is about the same as buying organic, so that’s not a deal breaker, but glatt red meat is getting ridiculous.
I don’t plan on eating pork or shell fish, but switching to the non-kosher beef, chicken, Turkey, and lamb equivalent.
