Sorta rant: Tired of having Israel goysplained to me

I am tired of having non-Jews goysplain Israel to me. People read the first article that shows up online and think that makes them experts on geopolitics. It makes them think they have a right to tell me how I should feel about my ancestral homeland. They think they have a right to deny us a homeland after thousands of years of persecution, slavery, genocide and oppression. A right to deny the very existence and history of our homeland. Even deny our existence as a people.

I’m experiencing this more and more at university. People say especially nasty things when they don’t know I’m Jewish, even the professors. I’ve even had other students come up to me and get in my face about “settlements in Palestine” when they learn that I am Jewish.

As Jewish Americans, none of us should have to go through this. We shouldn’t be forced to have to justify our own existence as a people everyday. Is any one else having issues with this? How do you manage? How do you educate people?
